Release notes
What changed in TAP (com.neverhold.tap). Updated with every Play AAB upload.
Synopsis · prior work
What TAP already shipped
TAP is the lean Neverhold sibling: Æther-style contact cards,
proximity TAP exchange, and a simple Supabase account —
without the full dialer, hold monitoring, or paid API integrations.
Through 2.3.0 the app already had People / Æther dashboard glass cards,
favorites and recents, cloud backup/restore, dual-transport exchange on Android (Nearby + BLE, first win) and BLE on iOS,
field chooser + touch animation, Terms/Privacy acceptance with account deletion, Play upload signing,
and first-run branding with adaptive icon and Share shortcut.
2.3.3 (build 27) — Current
Released August 27, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 26)
- Play 2027 quality: People lists no longer keep every contact photo in RAM. Release shrinking is tighter (DEX now under 10 MB). Android Restore Credentials is wired for zero-tap sign-in after a phone backup or transfer (needs the new Edge Function on the server).

What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 25)
- Play quality AAB: Release 2.3.3+26 is the measurement bundle for Google’s Feb 2027 DEX/memory rules. R8 minify, shrink, and obfuscate are on. DEX is about 11.2 MB, so Play’s 25% shrink/obfuscate/optimize floor applies. Upload this AAB and read the three percentages in App bundle explorer.
2.3.3 (build 25)

What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 22)
- Card photos: TAP uses the system photo picker. It does not ask for Photos library access.
- Card designer: Illustrated backgrounds download smaller.
- TAP exchange: TAP-card QR scan/show is removed. Store invite and emergency Medical ID QR are unchanged.
2.3.3 (build 22)
Released August 25, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 21)
- Card designer helper: First-run tips in Spanish (and other long copy) stay fully on screen so you can tap Next through the last step.
- Photos permission: Photos is requested separately from Camera; the permissions screen matches Android Settings.
- Message Center: Welcome copy displays correctly in Spanish.
- Invite: Removed the extra BLE footnote under “They don’t have TAP?”
2.3.3 (build 21)
Released August 18, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 20)
- Sign in with Microsoft: Continue with Microsoft on the same path as Google (browser sign-in). A Microsoft email counts as verified the same way Google does; phone still uses a separate SMS code — TAP never auto-verifies a number from Microsoft.
- Permissions: After you grant a permission in Android Settings, TAP updates without needing a full app restart.
- Cloud backup: Backup status sits above Backup now so you can see last backup before you tap.
2.3.3 (build 20)
Released August 18, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.3 (build 19)
- Card designer: More neon and bling colors (gold / platinum / diamond), stock gradients, custom two-stop mixer, plus gold and platinum chain wraps and photo borders.
- Android 15: Edge-to-edge on the main and lock-screen activities (Play SDK 35 display).
- Cold start: Branded native splash stays until the first real screen; no purple/cyan boot spinner.
- Emergency SMS: Send button shows Sending…, then a clear “Emergency message sent” confirmation with a short cooldown before the next send.
2.3.3 (build 19)
Released August 15, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.2 (build 18)
- TAP Medical ID on lock screen: Optional TAP emergency ID over the lock screen (notification; no medical details in the tray text). Responders can view fields, show QR, arm NFC, and message emergency contacts.
- Share Medical ID via TAP: Dedicated proximity share only — Medical ID is never attached to a personal or business card.
- Responder SMS: Destination/hospital, status chips (conscious / unconscious / critical / fatal), notes; includes the injured person’s name and phone.
- Faster launch: Branded native splash instead of a multi-second black screen; App Check deferred until after first frame.
- Cards / exchange: Two-phone logo centered above Start Exchange; taller business logos; billboard name/title under the photo; crop handles stay in the editor; share chooser label is My TAP contact card.
2.3.2 (build 18)
Released August 12, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap
What’s new since 2.3.2 (build 15)
- Business Account: Play listing and in-app store copy renamed from Advanced Account to Business Account (SKU id unchanged:
tap_advanced_account_annual).
- Ads: Adaptive banners, AdMob init/load optimize flags, UMP consent path aligned for better fill; interstitial frequency caps unchanged.
- Shared loyalty: Business Account / Remove Ads / Extra Business Card entitlements remain shared with Neverhold for the same account.
2.3.2 (build 15)
Released August 10, 2026 · Package com.neverhold.tap

- Spanish localization: Auth, store, and exchange flows in English plus Spanish (
es / es_MX).
