TAP Terms of Service

These terms apply to the TAP app (com.neverhold.tap). Neverhold Lite / dialer has separate Terms. Using TAP means you also agree to the TAP Privacy Policy, including the CCPA/CPRA category and third-party lists that match TAP’s in-app Request my data export.
1. The app
TAP lets you build TAP / Æther contact cards, exchange them with nearby phones (Bluetooth / Nearby), and optionally use Medical ID. TAP is not a phone dialer, not a default SMS app, and not a medical device.
2. Account
You must be old enough to form a contract where you live (generally 18). You are responsible for your account. The same account can be used in Neverhold. Store purchases that attach to the account (for example Business Account or Remove Ads) can apply in both apps for that user.
3. TAP exchange
Exchange happens when both people start TAP nearby. You choose what fields to send. TAP does not scan TAP-card QR codes. “They don’t have TAP?” is for store / install links, not a TAP-card QR bypass.
Card photos on Android use the system Photo Picker or camera. TAP does not require access to your entire photo library.
4. Medical ID (optional)
Medical ID is a personal safety aid, not dispatch and not a substitute for 911. You are responsible for accuracy of fields and emergency-contact numbers. Lock-screen Send may SMS only those contacts. We do not guarantee delivery. Medical ID is not part of ordinary TAP card exchange.
5. Purchases
Paid items (including Business Account, Extra Business Card, Remove Ads) are billed through Google Play. Manage or cancel in Google Play. Loyalty points and some entitlements can be shared with Neverhold on the same account.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use TAP to harass, spam, spoof identities, or send emergency alerts to anyone other than contacts on a Medical ID you control. Do not reverse-engineer or disrupt the service except as allowed by law.
7. Disclaimer
TAP is provided “as is.” Nearby radios, SMS, and NFC can fail. We are not liable for failed exchanges, missed emergency messages, or reliance on Medical ID instead of professional care, to the extent the law allows.
8. Privacy and data access
Your use of TAP is also governed by the TAP Privacy Policy. You may request a free copy of personal information TAP holds about you via Request my data in About TAP (PDF and/or JSON). Frequency of new regenerations may be limited as allowed by CCPA/CPRA § 1798.130(b) (not more than twice in 12 months); re-sharing a prior local package is unlimited.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
